چکیده
Kinematic soil-structure interaction (SSI) effects cause foundation-level motions to deviate from free-field motions. Simplified procedures account for kinematic SSI are available in design guidelines regular buildings and have been calibrated with limited foundation size depth of embedment. As a result, their application structures much larger footprints deeper embedment depths is questionable. can be used reduce ground relative those specified the free-field, this cost-effective especially depths. The objective study quantify extent deviations between use simplified empirical data select group In study, dataset earthquake recorded at instrumented Japan evaluate effects, which quantified terms transfer function ratio response spectra corresponding Transfer functions represent level structure motion frequency domain obtained by dividing Power Spectral Density motion. Finally, these compared formulations such as semi-empirical ASCE/SEI 41–17 recommended spectra, results presented residuals. overall trends residuals indicate that current tend overestimate large depths, overestimation higher functions. Thus, future studies, should revised applications

Earthquake Analysis of Base Isolated Structures Including Soil-Structure Interaction
A frequency domain dynamic analysis is needed to obtain the response of structures constructed on a system of base isolators on flexible soil when subjected to earthquake ground motion. In such systems, the lateral stiffness of the base isolators is so small, compared to the structural stiffness, that in an earthquake attack the fundamental vibration mode dominates the response. With this in mi...

متن کاملEffects of Multiple Structure-soil-structure Interactions Considering the Earthquake Waveform and Structures Elevation Effects
The simultaneous effects of soil and existing structures are known as the site-city interaction (structure-soil-structure). The impact of site-city interaction on structure behavior is effective. Thus, this interaction in some regions decreases the responses while increases in other areas. In addition, the site-city interaction of many parameters including the soil type, density rate, height of...
متن کاملNumerical and Experimental Study of Soil-structure Interaction in Structures Resting on Loose Soil Using Laminar Shear Box
In the present work, the effect of Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI) in low frequency structures resting on loose soil, through numerical modelling and shaking table tests have been studied. In theoretical studies two types of models namely fixed base and flexible base structure were subjected to three selected earthquake records. Nonlinear dynamic analysis was employed for all of the numerical ...
